Hello to all new and returning media students!
My name is Miss Ashby, and I am fortunate enough to not only teach in your school, but also become a part of such a thriving media department. I hope you all had a fantastic summer, which I am looking forward to hearing all about, but for now let’s talk blogging…
This blog will be a central part of your learning of media studies, and will be a place of communication between myself and all of you. You will all set up your own media blogs which will be your personal space that you can customise to your liking – a chance to get really expressive!
Most of your lessons will be centred around these blogs and I encourage you to keep up to date with each others work, leaving feedback comments of praise and constructive criticism, or to simply ask me or each other a subject related question. The beauty of blogging is that we can access them both inside and outside the classroom, and in school and outside of school. So if you watch a really good (or bad) film at the cinema, or read an interesting news article, or hear a great piece of music – then write about it on your blog! Upload pictures, videos, music and talk about what you like or dislike about them.
Those of you that are familiar with blogging will know that this is a great way for you to learn and expand on your chosen subject, from me, from each other and from yourselves as individuals.
Happy blogging people!
